DSM & Humboldt Dumblifier Overdrive Special

Das konstante Brummen welches dieses Gerät sowohl an den Audio-Ausgängen als auch über Kopfhörer generiert ist derart laut, dass man sowohl Master- als auch Volume-Regler schon deutlich aufdrehen muss um überhaupt durch diese Wand von Nebengeräuschen einigermaßen durchzudringen. Ganz egal ob mit Les Paul und Humbuckern oder Strat mit Singlecoil, die extreme Geräuschkulisse die dieses Pedal produziert ist wirklich rekordverdächtig. Das fällt umso mehr auf als das das Gerät den eigentlichen Signalpegel der Gitarre auch noch sehr stark absenkt. Umso lauter wird es dann, wenn man zwischendurch mal auf Bypass umschaltet. Der Sound im Clean-Kanal ist zwar etwas dumpf aber im Ganzen noch akzeptabel. Was der Dumblifier im Overdrive-Kanal produziert hat jedoch kaum Ähnlichkeit mit dem cremigen, kompressionsreichen Sound eines Dumble-Verstärkers. Was hier rauskommt unterscheidet sich nur wenig von der üblichen Transistor-Verzerrung anderer Overdrive-Pedale. An der Fertigungsqualität hapert es ebenfalls. Die vorderseitig angebrachten Regler für Reverb und Kopfhörerlautstärke sind derart schief eingebaut, dass die Potiknöpfe ziemlich stark gegen die Ausbohrungen am Gehäuse drücken und sich deshalb nur mit hohem Kraftaufwand bewegen lassen. Die drei Reverb-Typen klingen zweckmäßig, mehr aber auch nicht. Die Lautsprechersimulation fällt im Vergleich zu dem was z.B. ein Universal Audio OX produziert deutlich ab. Insgesamt ist das Gerät leider eine große Enttäuschung. Die Nebengeräusche sind untragbar, die Verarbeitung teilweise dürftig, und die gebotene Klangcharakteristik hält das Versprechen auf einen Dumble-Sound in Pedalform kaum ein.

The dumblifier has a solid sound, it’s exactly like in the videos from the small YouTube channels (I don’t trust the big one, to much money and everything it’s sponsored) the clean sound it’s great, the dynamic response it’s mind blowing also the reverb as simple as it looks it’s better than anything on my previous devices. Counting with clean, clean with preamp boost, drive channel and drive channel with booster you have 4 greats sounds in just one box, and that’s without any external pedal. It’s important for you to know this can go from sound for jazz super clean, to hard rock, but if you’re trying to play metal or something with a lot of distortion this might not be the good one. If you are like me looking for a solid sound for covers band to play pop, rock, funk, jazz, reggae…-anything you should really check it out and forget about all the menus and stuffs on the digital world.
