Universal Audio Apollo Twin X Duo Gen2 AC Pro

Ich bin seit Jahren mit dem Apollo Interface bisher immer zufrieden gewesen. Es ist mir trotzdem negativaufgefallen, dass bei der 2ten Generation jetzt der Mittlerebutton (Lautstärkeregler) sehr schwammig und sehr viel Spiel hat.
Ansonsten top Interface mit gewohnter Klangqualität. Nur das erste mal einrichten auf dem Macbook oder allgemein Apple gestaltet sich für neue Nutzer etwas kompliziert.

Ich spiele jetzt seit über 15 Jahren Gitarre, hatte schon etliche Interfaces auf dem Schreibtisch und war anfangs echt skeptisch, ob sich das Upgrade auf die Gen 2 beim Apollo Twin X Duo lohnt. Aber heilige Makrele, das Teil ist ein absoluter Gamechanger für jeden, der zu Hause fetten Amp-Sound aufnehmen will.
Der größte Knaller für mich als Gitarrist ist und bleibt die Unison-Technologie. Wenn du den Marshall Plexi oder die Fender-Emulationen direkt in den Console-Slot packst, fühlt sich das beim Anschlag einfach echt an. Da ist null spürbare Latenz, Latenz ist hier echt ein Fremdwort. Das Ding reagiert auf das Volume-Poti meiner PRS wie ein echter Röhrenamp. Die neuen Wandler klingen im Vergleich zur alten Gen 1 noch mal ein Stück offener und transparenter in den Höhen, die Pickups atmen richtig, und das neue Auto-Gain Feature ist übrigens mega praktisch!
Ja, das UAD-Ecosystem kostet Kohle und ja, man muss sich kurz in die Console-App reinfuchsen. Aber wer einmal den Sound von den DSP-Plugins beim Einspielen gehört hat, will nie wieder zurück zu nackten DAW-Ampsimulationen. Das Ding ist extrem robust gebaut, die Regler fühlen sich super wertig an und der Kopfhörerausgang hat ordentlich Dampf, selbst für hochohmige Studio-Kopfhörer.
Für mich jeden Cent wert. Wer Bock auf Studio-Sound ohne Stress im Homestudio hat: Greift zu. Fettes Lob an UA und danke an Thomann für den wie immer rasanten Versand! 5 von 5 Sternen, ohne Wenn und Aber.

Der Sound verglichen mit anderen namhaften Interfaces ist wirklich der Wahnsinn. Alles wirkt so hoch aufgelöst und klar. Dadurch spart man sich wirklich sehr viel Zeit beim Mixing. Die mitgelieferten Plug-Ins sind der Hammer. Noch viel besser ist aber das Monitoring mit Effekten und ohne Verzögerung. Perfekt im Studio wie auch für Live-Anwendungen. Die Hardware wie auch die Software sind sehr benutzerfreundlich. Von vorne bis hinten echt ein rundes Interface.

Having recently moved from a five bedroom house with a home studio to a one bedroom apartment, I needed to drastically reduce the footprint of a lot of my gear. No longer having the space for rack gear, I needed an interface that could fit on my desk but still provide the necessary essentials.

Barely larger than about four or five stacked CD cases (for those who remember what size those were), this provides the Hi-Z and mic/line inputs, headphone and monitor outs and keeps everything easily to hand (an accessible physical volume control is soooo useful).

The included controller software is stable and fairly intuitive, the preamps are solid and outpace the ones in my FocusRite, and the build quality is perfectly acceptable (yeah, I'm picky). Most of the bundled plugins are great, and running them on the built-in DSPs saves a fair bit of headroom. I use a Mac Pro, but if you're using a less overkill piece of hardware, this could be a very useful feature.

They include their Luna DAW. It's nice enough, but I'm too stuck in my ways with Logic Pro to go DAW hopping now.

If you're recording at home, don't need a dozens of ins/outs and value your desktop real estate, this could be a great fit for you too. If you already have the hardware and plugins you need in the box, get the standard version and save some money for beer and extra strings. The quality of the preamps is worth it over a lot of the lower-priced rivals.
